My Purpose

I am relatively new to the blogosphere. I stumbled across this dimension of the internet by accident, and have found that blogs are a tremendous source of information and encouragement.

This blog is purely for my own enjoyment at the moment. I love to write, and often feel the need to bounce ideas off of every available surface- my husband’s ears, my mom’s ears, my best friend’s ears , and occasionally the Yorkie when I’m desperate…… But I also hope that I can be a blessing and encouragement, share insights and information, and foster understanding. OK- and verbally kick butt when I want to rant.

I imagine that I will blather, bloviate, pontificate,  lecture, spiel, exclaim, and harangue. Words are fun- I take them out and play with them like my kids play with Legos.  Many ideas are fascinating, and communicating with others who have had similar or different experiences is always enlightening. I am insatiably curious and delight in discovery. I want to discuss topics that are rolling around in my head (as there is, I am sure, plenty of room :p )and voice my thoughts here. I believe in ‘blogging without obligation’- I do this for fun, to clear my mental cobwebs, to interact with those who are like-minded, and to possibly be challenged by those who aren’t.

Clarification might be needed on occasion, so if you do not understand the topic or my opinion of the topic, I would be glad to explain myself further. I am a Bible-believing and principle practicing Christian, and I don’t apologize for endeavoring to live my life in accordance with His Word and to His glory. There will be times, I am sure, that I will use words and phrases of ‘Christianese’, as well as concepts about home education, and assume a certain level of  understanding. I apologize beforehand for taking my audience for granted, because it isn’t something I want to be guilty of doing.

So feel free to ask questions or make comments. You may even heartily disagree, as long as it is in a civil manner. However, the only free speech on this blog is MINE. I will edit or delete any comment that does not contribute to the conversation in some way, is disruptive, or contains words not allowed on network television. I don’t object to humor, or even snark- but to maintain a productive blog, I won’t allow constant unrelated comments or unprovoked attacks to derail the train of thought I am conducting. And I AM the conductor ya’ll. ;)

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Sunnie,

I’m the black homeschooler that left the comment on the homeschool buzz. I just wanted to say thank you. My husband is a Marine, so it’s good to see another military family. Your son is doing our country a great service.

As a christian homeschooler, I want the same moral training for my girls that everyone else wants. I want my children to serve God first in all things.

You’re right about the media and the bating and then griping. Thanks again for being one of the few people that understands that parents are parents.

God Bless,
Genia Quetel, proud wife of a Gunny, and mother of 3 great girls
